Welcome the baby multistrada!

What's up guys!! Revminister here!!
And welcome to the world of mean machines!!

Ducati India just launched its new entry level sports tourer, the Ducati Multistrada 950 in India! Lets see how this baby multistrada performs against its elder siblings!

The Multistrada series started as a 1000cc adventure bike for road use in 2003. It had a stance and ergos like a dirt bike but equipped with 17 inch tarmac spec rubber. It was new and novel, comfortable for day long rides, handled well and sold in good numbers. Healthy commerce usually drives the upward evolution and the Multistrada 1000 evolved into the 1200.

Ducati wanted to spread that customer base and so they watched, analysed and brought in the Multistrada 950! A bike which preserved the versatility and road presence of its elder sibling while at the same time being easier on the rider's pocket!

Now comming to the bike, it sits on the same chassis as that of the 1200S. It is powered by a 937cc, liquid cooled Testastretta 11° engine, Which produces 113HP @ 9000 rpm and 96 NM of troque @ 7750 rpm. You also get a ride-by-wire throttle and a slipper clutch as standard!
The bike sits on fully adjustable KYB forks at front and a Sachs monoshock at the rear, having 170mm of travel at both ends.

Since its a tourer, it gets a 20L fuel tank and 4 riding modes. Which are Sport, Touring, Urban and Enduro.

You also get power mode i.e low, medium and high along with Ducati's safety pack (ABS + DTC)

The braking duties are handled by the radially mounted Brembo calipers with a 320mm disc at the front and a single 265mm disc at rear.

Ducati is also providing a host of additional accessories like aluminum panniers, top box, tank bags, performance parts and exhaust, off-road equipment like bash plates, etc.

Now comming to the main part, its price!
With a post GST price tag of around 12.6 lacs (ex-showroom), this baby beast is all set to destroy the sales of other middle weight sports tourers, especially the Triumph tiger XRx!

So that was all for today!!
